Brief description
The IBE is an institute which is situated in the Faculty of Engineering in Stellenbosch University (SU). However, in that Biomedical Engineering (BME) is inherently multi-disciplinary, the IBE has a mandate to work across different faculties, primarily between the Faculties of Engineering, Sciences and Medicine and Health Sciences, and other entities such as centres, bureaus and institutes (CBI’s) within SU, other national and international higher education institutions, and public and private enterprises.
- The IBE supports and encourages research partnerships and alliances with other entities, both nationally and internationally,
- It promotes and enhances the social awareness of Biomedical Engineering,
- It facilitates BME staff capacity building, at SU, nationally and Africa as a whole,
- It is a BME post graduate degree granting institution
List of facilities/equipment:
