Brief track record
Mainen Moshi graduated with a Bachelor of Pharmacy in 1984 at the Division of Pharmacy of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Dar es Salaam. He received a PhD in cardiovascular pharmacology at the Royal College, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, in 1991. He is currently the Director for Undergraduate Education of the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied sciences. Other positions he has served at the same University include; Head Unit of Experimental Pharmacology of the Institute of Traditional Medicine at MUHAS (1991-2003), Director of the Institute of Traditional Medicine (2003-2009), Director of ICT (2009-2012) and Director of research and Publications (2012-2015). At National level Mainen Moshi is a member of the Tanzania Academy of Sciences, and has served as a member of different Committees including Tanzania Food and Drugs Authority; (TFDA) Adverse Drug Reactions Technical Advisory Committee, TFDA Cosmetics Technical Advisory Committee, Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH) Health R&D Committee and ICT Advisory Committee. He is currently a member of the TFDA Human Medicines Registration Committee, Member of the Editorial Board of the Tanzania Journal of Health Sciences. At International level he has served as the WHO/TDR Good laboratory Practice Trainer and he currently an Associate Editor of BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine.
